Donnie Darko?

Donnie goes to Roberta Sparrow's house to get advice since she wrote the book philosophy of time travel. He tells the Bully "go home and tell his mother everything is going to be okay" (I believe) I think Frank did apologize in the movies for Killing Gretchen but i dont think he was supposed to stop the events from happening i think he was supposed to shift them so that Donnie died. if Donnie hadnt gone and done all of the things that he was supposed to(the things that frank said to do) Gretchen would have never met him(he met her when Frank made him flood the school) let alone died, also if you think back donnie wouldnt have died either, if Frank hadnt told him to burn down that motivational speaker guys house his mother wouldnt have had to chaperone sparkle motion(his sisters dance team) to L.A and the plane that had to be the metal object for time travel may never have been where it needed to be in the precise time( as explained when he asked his science teacher about time travel initially). did that answer your questions any?
