Is it too late to wean my dog off prednisone?

Please discuss this with your vet who prescribed the medication. You do not want to suddenly stop Prednisone as it can cause serious complications. Your vet can tell you the correct way to wean the dog off the medication. You may have other options for the allergies as well. Talk to the vet and make sure you tell him/her your concerns about long-term use of the steroid. Not to scare you, but steroid use has been linked to some cancers. Good luck.
