What should i do about my boyfriend?

so he asked me out over the phone last thursday and i said yes .i went to his house with other friends and we watched a scary movie and he was a realy good boyfriend, he held my hand and cuddled and all that. anyway i felt very happy because it has been a while since i have had a boyfriend... wheni went to school monday people asked if we where dateing and when i said yes they said things like "thats gross" and "you can do better." it made me overthink it and have second thoughts about it. but then i think how much fun we had over the weekend. so what do you think i should do, we might hang out again with the same people this weekend and i realy want to go but i cant get what people said out of my head and im thinking i mgiht only like him for the sake of haveing someone to cuddle with yu no? im sorry if it was to long and it sounds kind of dorky i no haha
