Tongue piercing bump? i've had it pierced for 2 years w/o a problem until now.?

I've had my tongue pierced for coming up on 2 years now and I've never had a problem with it. Until about a week and a half ago it was a little irritated underneath where the piercing comes out of the underside of your tongue. and so i took it out for a few days, then put one back in and it was fine for a few days and then it started getting irritated again so i have now taken it back out. and there is a white bump on the bottom where the hole is for the ring to come through & the whole piercing hole itself is a big knot. sort of like when your ears are pierced and one side gets sort of hard and callused. basically the same thing....help??
