Why Are Dems Trying to Take Guns from Normal Citizens Instead of Getting Tougher with Criminals?

Most crimes are committed by legally purchased guns from states that have a lenient gun control policy. Criminals don't build their own guns, they buy them. They get those guns in the easiest location possible which would be a state with a strong NRA lobby and loose buying restrictions.
