Do You Think Apple And Steve Jobs Can Make The Changes That Will Bring An End To Digital Rights Management?
Steve Jobs has claimed by the end of the year, digital rights management will be removed from at least half of the iTunes Store. EMI recently decided to offer their products on the store DRM-free. EMI also gives new file quality options. ( http://www.emigroup.com/Press/2007/press18.htm ) Steve Jobs has discussed his anti-DRM views on the Apple website as an address to his customers. ( http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughtsonmusic/ ) Do you think that eventually the entire iTunes Store will be DRM-free? (At least the music.) Also, if it does, do you think this will bring an industry-wide change where most leading music providers drop the DRMs that cripple their products? Will record companies, other music services and Microsoft make the changes that will allow for online music to reach it's maturity?
